Stone´s Throw · Art Print

"Stone´s Throw" comes as a limited edition art print. The original artwork is an ink- and watercolor-artwork on structured paper. It shows a cat jumping into an underwater-fantasy-scenery trying to catch a fish.

The equivalent to "stone´s throw" is "Katzensprung" in german, which literally means "cat-jump" if you translate it word for word. That´s just in case you were wondering why I named this artwork "stone´s throw" :)

Working with ink is a very calming and meditative drawing-technique. Especially if you´re using a rapidograph. I love to work with the thinnest one of those (which is a .18 rapidograph). The tip of the rapidograph pen is like a needle, so it doesn´t really feel like you´re drawing, it rather feels like tattooing the paper, scratching the surface of the paper to apply the ink.

I like to combine watercolor with ink. These two together result in the perfect combination of "defined" areas and "freely painted / undefined" areas.
